Covid- 19 Protocol For Patients 2021
Covid – 19. Update to Patients. 5th January, 2021.
Firstly, Happy New Year and thank you for your continued support during these trying times.
Ever since this crisis began, we at the Sussex Foot Centre have taken all measures necessary to protect the health and wellbeing of both our patients and ourselves also. Our decision to remain open has been continually assessed in light of the advice from the Government and the College of Podiatry. As of 25th March, the Government has stated that Podiatry and Chiropody clinics can remain open through lockdowns. The release states that exceptions to the closure of businesses and premises are: Medical services (such as Dental Surgeries, Opticians, and Chiropody and Podiatry Clinics).
The decision to remain open has also been taken with the assurance and the confidence that we can provide a sterile and hygienic setting for our patients. We understand just how much our patients rely on us, as many present with a host of complex needs. As such, we are determined to continue treating those at risk of foot infection, those who require emergency appointments, as well as any online and telephone advice. By doing this, we are thus providing crucial preventative care, which will ultimately keep our most vulnerable patients out of hospital and away from harm. This, of course, has the added benefit of reducing the burden on our fantastic NHS.
Following further lockdown restrictions been implemented from today, we wanted to introduce/ reintroduce you to some of our Covid guidelines.
-Firstly, and most importantly, if you are experiencing any of the symptoms associated with Covid – 19, then you must not come into clinic.
-Secondly, unless you are exempt, you must also wear a face mask.
-Upon arrival at the clinic with your face covering, you will be asked if you, or anyone in your household has show any signs or symptoms associated with Covid- 19. Assuming the answer is ‘no’, your temperature will be digitally taken to ensure that it is in normal limits.
-We will then ask you to sanitise your hands at one of our many sanitising stations.
– We will then advise you to scan our unique QR code with the NHS Test and Trace Covid- 19 App.
– We would also like to ask our patients to pay via our contactless card reader, when possible. If not, then our card reader and, indeed, all surfaces in the clinic are rigorously sanitised at frequent intervals throughout the day.
– We would also like to encourage you to only enter the clinic at the precise time of you appointment, so please either wait outside the clinic or in your car. Where this is not possible, our waiting room is designed in a way which encourages social distancing.
Thank you all for doing your part.
Thank you for doing your part,
Best wishes,
all of us at the Sussex Foot Centre
