Sports Massage Therapy is for you!

Sports massage therapy is beneficial in alleviating the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries occur due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. Above all, it can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether you’re an athlete, avid keep-fitter or a once a week jogger.

This treatment is not just for the sports person; anyone can benefit from sports massage, including people in physically demanding jobs, people with ongoing injuries, pregnant women and people who would like a pampering session.

Based on various elements of Swedish massage, sports massage therapy incorporates a combination of techniques involving stretching, compression, friction, toning, and trigger point response. Our skilled therapist brings together this blend of techniques, knowledge and advice during treatment, to work effectively with you to bring about optimum performance and to provide injury-free training and minimise post-event injuries.

From the moment I walked into the office, the staff were welcoming and professional. Jon took the time to listen to all my concerns and provided a thorough explanation of my treatment options. I had a complicated tendon injury which required intensive treatment including ultrasound scans, custom orthotics, steroid injections and shockwave therapy. The care I have received has been first class and I felt truly taken care of every step of the way. When I first saw Jon I could barely walk and was in terrible pain but now my foot is healing and the pain has gone. This is thanks entirely to Jon's expert treatment, meaning I have been able to avoid major surgery and I couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend this practice to anyone in need of expert podiatric care!

Very good place for all kinds of podiatry and other foot services. Jon is a fantastic podiatrist and clinican, made me personalised orthotics for my terribly flat feet and still provides me with chiropody services for my feet. Patient review: Tilly aged 9: I started off with my feet in a pretty bad state with lots of verrucas. It was painful and stopping me doing my football. When I came to see Jon he was funny, good to chat to and explained things to me well. It didn’t even hurt but was tickly! After 3 visits my feet feel much better and I am back to my football. His room is very clean and there is a comfy chair you get to sit on which goes really high. I give him a 5 star review!
